Daniel 8:10and23
The Little Horn became great and cast down God's people in the Church!

10 And it [the little horn] waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground and stamped upon them .

23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance [the little horn], and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up . 


INTRODUCTION 

In our past study of Daniel 8:8-9, we found that the whole account has a double application: one being the revelation of the then literal soon to come history during the Old Covenant or Old Testament period in and shortly after the prophet Daniel's time, and the other being a revelation of spiritual events which would take place during the New Covenant or New Testament period, especially those events which began to take place nearing the end of Church Age on May 21,1988, and then on into the Great Tribulation period from May 21,1988 to when the many days of Judgment Day began on May 21,2011. To remind ourselves of Daniel 8:8-9 that we previously looked at, those two verses read, 

8 Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven .
9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant [glorious] land.

In the literal Old Testament literal application of these verses, the he goat that waxed very great , we found, was Alexander the Great who not only conquered the great Persian Kingdom in 330 BC, but the whole known world of his day. Yet, as prophesied, when he was strong, the great horn was broken . That is, Alexander the Great, that great horn died in 323 BC , which, we had learned, may have been due to Guillain-Barre syndrome , an acute autoimmune condition that results in muscle paralysis, and, therefore, Alexander the Great may not have been dead when they thought he was dead, which may have resulted in his having been embalmed alive (see how did Alexander the Great die? ).  

Now, when our verse states, and for it [in the place of Alexander] came up four notable ones [horns] toward the four winds of heaven , we saw that in the literal Old Testament application, this meant that four notable kings or kingdoms arose in the place of Alexander's great Grecian kingdom. As we had learned, these four kingdoms that arose after Alexander the Great died were Greece to the west, Egypt to the south, Asia to the north, and Syria to the east, each having their own individual king to rule over them. And then, that these four notable kings or kingdoms, symbolized by four horns , came up toward the four winds of heaven simply meant that they stretched out in all four directions of the compass: as stated, Greece to the west, Egypt to the south, Asia to the north, and Syria to the east.  

But now, our next verse 9 states of our previous study stated, And out of one of them [out of one of the four previously mentioned kingdoms or kings] came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant [glorious] land . In the literal Old Covenant application and context, we found this little horn could be no other than Antiochus Epiphanes , and he was a king that came out of the kingdom of Syria to the east. In the historical account, this little horn could be none other than Antiochus because only he fits in that exact time period, and he is the only one who perfectly fits the description of the little horn of whom, in verse 11 of Daniel 8, it is said that by him [Antiochus] the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down . This, we found, literally took place when, in 167 BC, Antiochus forced Greek culture upon the Jews, putting an end to the Jewish temple service and worship on pain of death for anyone who refused. Thus, by him, the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his [Yahweh's] sanctuary was cast down . To desecrate the temple, Antiochus apparently sacrificed a pig (an unclean animal to the Jews) on the incense altar of the Holy Place, and he installed an idol to Zeus Olympias in the temple to be worshipped in place of Yahweh, as well as also forcing sacrifices to be made at the feet of an idol in the image of the King himself, which, in retrospect, the latter was not mentioned in our last study, but it should have been. So, quite literally, the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his [Yahweh's] sanctuary was cast down by Antiochus, which is how we know he was the little horn of the Old Covenant or Testament who, as Daniel's vision revealed , waxed exceeding great toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant [glorious] land , namely toward the glorious land of Judah and Jerusalem where the worship of Yahweh and the daily sacrifices and temple service actually took place. 

Yet, as already stated, there is also a spiritual application or meaning to these verses as well, and this is what is most important for us today because it relates to spiritual things that took place in the New Covenant, or Testament, and Latter Days in which we now find ourselves. Remember, the entire Old Covenant, or Testament, is a foreshadow of spiritual things that would be revealed in the New Covenant or Testament, as we read, 

Hebrews 10:1 For the law [the Old Covenant or Testament scripture] having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things   ...  

And again, we read, 

Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days :
17 Which [were] a shadow of things to come  ...  

And much more could be offered to show that the Old Covenant, or Testament, was a foreshadow of spiritual things that would be revealed in the New Covenant or Testament. So, in this respect, we learned that when our verse 8 of our previous study stated, the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken , it meant that when the devil himself (symbolized by he goat ) waxed very great by being released from the pit by God at the end of the Church Age to begin the Great Tribulation of spiritual judgment upon the Christian Church on May 21,1988 according to the very accurate , Biblical Timeline of History , it spiritually meant that this great strength and power of the devil came to an end ( the great horn was broken ) to actually become even greater as our verse 8 states, and for it [in the place of the great horn, Satan] came up four notable ones [horns] toward the four winds of heaven . This we discovered to mean that the great strength and power ( the great horn ) of Satan that had come to an end in some sense became even a greater worldwide or universal notable strength and power (symbolized by the four notable horns ) of Satan to work in accord with ( toward or to ) the final worldwide or universal judgment of God (symbolized by the four winds of heaven ) that came, first, upon all the Christian churches worldwide on May 21,1988, and then expanded to come upon the whole world on May 21,2011 with the end to any further possibility for eternal salvation. And, as we had learned, since the four winds of heaven could possibly be translated as the universal or worldwide spirits, i.e. the Holy Spirit, it could very well mean that the great strength and power (symbolized by the great horn ) of Satan that came to an end by being broken became even a greater worldwide or universal notable strength and power of Satan (symbolized by the four notable horns that came up in place of the great horn ) to work in accord with ( toward or to ) the Holy Spirit of God ( the four spirits of heaven ) who brought judgment first upon all the Christian churches beginning on May 21,1988 by having departed out from them to leave them defenseless and without any more true eternal salvations possible so that the counterfeit holy spirit and Christ, the Antichrist , the devil himself would then be able to easily take over rule in the Christian Church in the place of the true Holy Spirit without them even knowing it, as he did, to even deceive many by the signs and wonders he was given by God to do, such as counterfeit salvations and all the rest, like supposed miraculous healings, the making of churchgoers to fall backwards as the beast called down spiritual fire from heaven, the supposed extra-biblical revelations of dreams, visions, the speaking in tongues, or hearing voices from god, and so forth, all that, just as we have been seeing, has given even more evidence for the accuracy of the Biblical Timeline of History because the Bible has always taught that those so-called signs and wonders, such as the making of people to fall backward, for instance, would take place during the Great Tribulation, which the Biblical Timeline of History reveals was from May 21,1988 to May 21,2011, precisely when those supposed signs and wonders came to be in great abundance (see Revelation 13:13part1 , part2 , and part 3 ).  

But next, in continuing to review the spiritual meaning or application discovered in our last study of Daniel 8, verse 9 read,   

9 And out of one of them [out of one of the four notable horns that came up toward the four winds of heaven] came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant [glorious] land .  

Since we had learned that out of one of them [out of one of the four notable horns] meant out of the worldwide or universal notable power and strength of Satan that he was granted on May 21,1988 in leu of having then been freed from the pit in which he had been bound ever since the time of the cross, there came forth a little horn . This little horn , we learned, was a description of the strength and power of Satan in the Christian Church, for the word horn in the Bible is normally symbolic of power and strength, and, as we shall see, the term little horn refers to Satan as the counterfeit Christ or Antichrist who took of his seat of rule in the Temple, namely the corporate Christian Church beginning on May 21,1988 to be used as God's Judgment against them (see Why leave all churches? ). His strength and power are said to be little in comparison to all the notable strength and power that he had been granted worldwide, as symbolized by the four notable horns , out of which one of them , he came, the number four , of course, symbolizing worldwide (see the number 4 ), and the horns symbolizing power and strength.   

Indeed, beginning on May 21,1988, the devil had finally gotten everything he wanted: not only rule over the whole world, but power and strength to rule over the entire corporate Christian Church, which includes every Christian Church. And although Christ began to rule over the whole world with a rod of iron to bring His Final Judgment against it beginning on May 21,2011, and so, in principal, the devil was then dethroned, God has permitted Satan to continue for a season and time (until the very end) as God's instrument of judgment, which means he has been permitted to continue in his apparent rule over the world and the Christian Church (Daniel 7:12 ). But he knows ever since May 21,2011 that he now has but days left, so he has become crazy insane to do whatever the Lord will allow him to do in spiritually deceiving and destroying, not only the whole world, but also the whole corporate Christian Church even further, which he had already conquered before the many days of Judgment Day even began on May 21,2011. God's chosen ones, His Eternal Church, though, had long since departed out from their churches to follow their Lord before May 21,2011 , and they are a remnant now scattered all about the earth. And because we, His chosen, are the Holy Temple of God now scattered all about the earth, the whole earth has become Holy. The land of Israel is no longer the Holy Land, but the whole earth, soon to be transformed into the new heaven and earth. And inside the Holy of Holies within each one of us, if, indeed, we be born of Him, is the true Ark of the Covenant that many are still searching for but shall never find, with the law written on our hearts and Aaron's rod that budded, making all of us of the spiritual line of Aaron, who foreshadowed Christ in whom we are all priests even though Christ descended from tribe of Judah and not Levi. And further, because Yahweh, the king of all, dwells in us, we have been made kings and priests unto our God. Indeed, we have been lifted far above, and we are far richer than the kings and priests of this earth who are passing away, for we will never pass away but only continue to be renewed day by day and forever, being transformed from glory to glory.  

Now, finally, in our review of what we learned in our last study of Daniel 8, we found that this little horn waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant [glorious] land . Whereas, in the literal meaning this meant that Antiochus Epiphanes became great in his conquests or influence toward the south, Egypt, and toward the east, in and around where the old Median and Persian kingdoms were, and toward the glorious land, Judah and Jerusalem where the Holy Temple was; in the spiritual application or meaning for the New Covenant or Testament, it refers not to literal directions on the map or compass, for in the spiritual realm there are no such directions, but instead, it simply means that it was God's purpose, symbolized by the number 3 in the 3 directions in which the little horn is said to have waxed great , namely toward the south , east , and toward the glorious land , that the devil waxed great into the Christian churches ( the glorious land ) beginning on May 21,1988 as he was then seated to begin ruling therein to begin God's Final Judgment on the world, first at the House of God, for judgment [had to] begin at the House of God (1Peter 4:17).  

Well, I would like to begin our study today by reading Daniel 8:23, which we did not cover in our last study, where the angel Gabriel, in interpreting Daniel's vision about the little horn , says the following about the little horn who we had discovered waxed or became great in the glorious land (in the corporate Christian Church that includes all Christian churches) beginning on May 21,1988. We read,

23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance [the little horn], and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up . 

Now, the term their kingdom in the prepositional phrase, in the latter time of their kingdom refers back to the four notable horns that came up in the place of the great horn after it had been broken, and we found that those four notable horns , in the spiritual and New Testament application or meaning symbolized the worldwide notable power and strength of Satan, which was given to him to begin God's Judgment against the Christian Church worldwide on May 21,1988. Therefore, when the angel Gabriel says to Daniel, And in the latter time of their kingdom , he means in the latter time of the worldwide notable power and strength of Satan. And we found that this latter time of the worldwide notable power and strength of Satan began particularly on May 21,1988 when Satan had been released from the pit in which he was bound ever since the time of the cross, to then be used to bring judgment against Christ's Own Church by having been given power and strength to rule over it, and to then have fulfilled the prophesy of the coming of the Antichrist, who is the counterfeit Christ, also called the Man of Sin, the Abomination of Desolation, the Beast, and, yes now also, the Little Horn .   

But let's now notice that at this latter time of the worldwide notable power and strength of Satan, which had been granted to him to bring judgment, first, at God's Own House beginning on May 21,1988, is said to also be when the transgressors are come to the full . The Hebrew word translated as the transgressors is not actually a noun as it appears to be here in the King James translation. No, it is simply a verb that means to rebel, sin or transgress, and rebel, sin, or transgress, of course, means to disobey God's teachings or law. Furthermore, as this Hebrew word translated as a plural noun, the transgressors is actually a participle in the Active Voice, we could best translate our verse like this:  

23 And in the latter time of their kingdom [in the latter time of the worldwide notable power and strength of Satan ], when transgressing [sinning or rebelling] is come to the full, a king of fierce countenance [the little horn], and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up . 

So, we could say that it was when the transgressing or rebelling of people in the Christian Church had come to the full extent to which God would any longer tolerate it without beginning to bring His Final Judgment against them, that the little horn who is the counterfeit Christ, the Antichrist, the devil himself was unleashed and became great in the Christian churches ( in the glorious land ), and they worshipped him (see Revelation 13:4 and 13:8 ), all the while thinking that he is the true Christ when, instead, he is the Antichrist , the Father of Lies, the devil himself in disguise. 

Now, the angel Gabriel next says that this little horn who comes on the scene or stands up in the Christian Church beginning on May 21,1988 is a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences . The term fierce countenance here is more literally translated as strong or mighty faces , and, because this little horn is a spirit, Satan, for him to be strong or mighty faces could be translated and understood as him having a strong or mighty presence . Therefore, we can reason from this, that this king of fierce countenance has a spiritually strong or mighty presence in the Christian Church. Indeed, he is spiritually the perfect counterfeit Christ and holy spirit in complete disguise as the true Christ and Holy Spirit, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits [to sit means he rules] in the temple of God [the corporate Christian Church], shewing himself that he is God (2Thessalonians 2:4). This becoming as God to rule over the Christian Church was what Satan always desired as we read in Isaiah 14, 

13 For thou [Satan] hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God [the true believers]: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation [rule over the Christian Church], in the sides of the north .  

So, beginning on May 21,1988, God finally gave the devil what he wanted because of all the sins of the Christian church. When God could no longer tolerate all their sins in leading up to the spiritual end of the Church Age on May 21,1988, He released the devil from the spiritual pit in which he was bound and granted him the power and strength to spiritually overcome and rule over the whole corporate Christian Church, which includes all Christian churches, for God's Final Judgment on this world [had to] begin at the House of God (1Peter 4:17).  

We are not only told that this little horn is a king of strong presence in the Christian Church, just like the true Holy Spirit and Christ were strong in presence before they both finally departed out from the Church to leave it defenseless so that it could be taken over by the devil beginning on May 21,1988 as judgment against them, but this little horn is also said to be understanding dark sentences . What does this mean? As usual, to understand a given term, word, phrase, or passage in the holy scriptures, we must look that term or word up everywhere it takes place in the Bible and let the Bible define it by how it is used. When we do that, we find that the word translated as dark sentences means parables. For instance, we read,   

Ps 49:4 I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying [dark sentences] upon the harp .  

And we read, 

Ps 78:2 I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings [dark sentences] of old .  

And again,  

Ezekiel 17:2 Son of man, put forth a riddle [a dark sentence], and speak a parable unto the house of Israel .  

See how the same word translated as dark sentence(s) is equated to being parables when we let the Bible define its own terms? And what are parables but earthly history or earthly stories that have a deeper meaning than what just appears on the surface. And even as Mark says of Christ , But without a parable spoke he [Christ] not unto them : and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples (Mark 4:34); and even as we learned that Daniel 8 and the entire Old Testament or Covenant is written in what we called historical parables: literal true history that points to deeper truths: a foreshadow or type of things to come, that this king of strong presence in the Church ( the Little Horn ) understands dark sentences (parables) certainly means that he understands the deeper truths of Holy Scripture. And so, that he understands the difficult to understand parables of the Bible means he is better able to deceive the whole Christian Church with respect to the many parables, such as Daniel 8, which speak to endtime things. 

Okay, let's now move on to verse 10, but let's just now focus on the spiritual application of the verse that applies to the New Covenant or Testament period that we are now in. Who cares about its literal application for the Old Covenant or Testament! What really matters today is the meaning and application that Daniel 8 has for the New Covenant or Testament in which we now find ourselves. By now having revealed the double application and meaning to Daniel 8, I simply wanted you to see that there are two completely different and yet both true applications and meanings: one for the Old Testament people, and another for the New Testament people. Actually, from what I have come to see over the last 45 years of Bible study, this has been true for all of the Old Testament history of Israel that I have studied: there was a literal Old Testament application for God's Old Testament people, which, yes, gave a true earthly story or history, not some myth like many foolish so-called scholars call it, but we could call it a historical parable because it was a true literal earthly history with a deeper heavenly or spiritual meaning to be revealed or explained in the New Testament. In other words, all of ancient Israel's history and stories are literally true and real, but, as children often need an earthly picture to begin to see the deeper meaning to it, so God's ancient people, being spiritual children, needed an earthly picture, painted by the literal Old Covenant or Testament history and stories to be able to begin to see what it all foreshadowed and pointed to. And now, being near the end of this world and in the Latter Days of the New Covenant or Testament, we should be able to see more clearly than ever, as the New Testament explains or reveals what the Old Covenant or Testament foreshadowed or pointed to. So, from now on, we will no longer focus on both the Old Covenant, literal application or meaning, as well as the New, but we will just zero in on the spiritual New Testament application or meaning to Daniel 8, which is pertinent to these last days we have been in beginning on May 21,1988 when the Church Age spiritually came to an end and God's Final Judgm ent on the world began, first, at the House of God (1Peter 4:17), the corporate Christian Church, which all Christian churches belong.

As usual, let's begin our study by reading verse 10 of Daniel 8 once again. It reads,  

10 And it [the little horn] waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground and stamped upon them .  

In verse 9 of Daniel 8, we were already told that the little horn waxed exceedingly great toward the south, and toward the east, and toward [or into] the glorious land , which symbolizes that it was God's purpose (symbolized by the number 3 in the three directions: south , east , and into the glorious land ) that the counterfeit Christ, the Antichrist , the devil himself, would wax or become great into the corporate Christian Church beginning on May 21,1988 to begin God's Judgment against them. But now, in so waxing exceedingly great , we are told that this little horn who is the counterfeit Christ, the Antichrist, the devil, waxed great even to the host of heaven . The host of heaven (literally, the host of the heavens, plural) can refer to the armies of celestial angels; the sun, moon, and stars in the heavens; or the human armies of God. In this context of the Christian Church in which the little horn is said to wax great, it obviously refers to the human armies of God's people who were, at the time of May 21,1988, still in the Christian Church. 

But then, what does it mean that the little horn waxed great even to the host of heaven ? The Hebrew word translated as even to in the prepositional phrase, even to the host of heaven means, in this context, both even to the degree of the host of heaven and even to the place of the host of heaven . And, as we have seen, the host of heaven means the armies of God's people who were then still in the Christian churches; therefore, when the little horn waxed great even to the host of heaven , it means that the counterfeit Christ, the Antichrist, the devil, waxed great to the degree of God's people and to the place of God's people in the Christian Church. That the little horn waxed great to the degree of God's people means that he waxed so great that he was able to conquer the mighty and holy people of God. We already saw this back in verse 7 of Daniel 8 when the he goat was said to have broken the two horns of the ram , Jesus Christ. The two horns , if you remember, symbolized the Church, and the he goat symbolized Satan. Thus, we saw that Satan spiritually conquered or destroyed the Christian Church (he broke the ram's two horns) after he was set free from the pit on May 21,1988 in which he had been originally bound ever since the time of the cross. He was not bound at the time of the cross in that he could no longer go about as a roaring lion, seeking whom to devour, but he was bound in that he could no longer frustrate the gospel from going out to the world to save all God's Elect. And at the end of the Church Age and the beginning of God's Judgment on His Church beginning on May 21,1988, Satan was freed and granted the strength and power to begin ruling over the entire Christian Church. Thus, he waxed great , not only to the degree of but also to the place of the host of heaven , namely in the whole corporate Christian Church, which includes all Christian churches to one degree or another. 

Then next, our verse states, and it [the little horn] cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground and stamped upon them . What does this mean? Well, we just learned that in this context, the host refers to the armies of God's people . But what do the stars refer to? Many of you, of course, already know, for we have looked at this term many times in our studies in the book Revelation and other holy scripture, but let's refresh our memories. When we search the Bible on the word stars , we read in Genesis 15,  

4 And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him [Abram], saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir .
5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be .  

In other words, the stars of heaven are compared to being the seed of Abram. We see this also in Genesis 22 where we read ,

15 And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time ,
16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son :
17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies ;
18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice . 

Notice how Abraham's seed here is compared to being as the stars of the heaven . That is, the stars represent the seed of Abraham. Yet, who is the true seed of Abraham? We discovered the answer to this in Galatians 3:16 where we read,  

Ga 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, and to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ .  

So, we are told by this verse that the seed of Abraham is Christ. But then, we also read in Galatians 3:29 ,  

Ga 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise .  

So, Christ is the seed of Abraham, and those who belong to Christ - who are all those who were saved in Christ by May 21, 2011 - are Abraham's seed as well.   

And now, we can conclude as to the meaning to the stars : the stars represent the seed of Abraham, which refers to Christ and all those who are saved in Christ Jesus, namely the elect. And there is so much more in the Bible to show that the stars must be God's people, but many of us already know this, so let's not belabor the point but move on. 

So now, when our verse states, and it [the little horn] cast down [some] of the host and of the stars to the ground and stamped upon them , we can begin to understand what is being said. It refers to the little horn , who is the counterfeit Christ and Antichrist, Satan himself: it is he who cast down [some] of the armies of God [the host of heaven] and of the stars , namely [some] of God's people to the ground and stamped upon them . Thus, the armies of God are here being clearly defined as some of God's people, and so our verse would be best translated like this: and it [the little horn] cast down [some] of the host, even of the stars, to the ground and stamped upon them , for the phrase, even of the stars is really just another description of who the host , or armies of God, really are: they are God's chosen people of saved true believers in Jesus Christ. 

But now, moving on further, what does it mean that the devil cast down some of God's saved people to the ground and stamped upon them ? Since the word translated as ground can just as well be translated as earth in the Hebrew, our verse now reads, and it [the little horn] cast down [some] of the host, even of the stars , to the earth and stamped upon them . Thus, we are being told that this little horn , who is the counterfeit Christ, the Antichrist, the devil himself, cast down some of God's true people to the earth and stamped upon them . But spiritually, what does the term the earth represent? We must interpret the earth to refer to all the spiritually living people on the planet. And, since all the spiritually living people on the planet were all those brought to spiritual life in Jesus Christ, and they were normally found in the Christian local churches, we could say that the land, ground, or earth of all the spiritually living was all the local churches and congregations around the world. Therefore, we can surmise that our term the earth refers to all the local churches and congregations worldwide or all those who have claimed life through Jesus Christ worldwide . 

Another way of seeing that our term the earth can refer to all those who claimed life through Jesus Christ, namely everyone in the Christian Church worldwide, is to remember what we had learned in verse 1 of Revelation 13 : remember, we learned that the word sea from which the beast rose up out from refers to the unsaved (spiritually dead) in the world. And, since the word earth carries the opposite meaning to the word sea, for the earth and the sea are opposites, it is logical to assume that whereas the sea in context can mean the unsaved (spiritually dead) in the world, then the opposite word earth can mean the saved (spiritually alive) in the world because the unsaved and the saved are opposites. And, therefore, the term the earth in our verse of study can refer to all the saved (spiritually living) in the world. And, as stated before, all the saved or spiritually alive or living people were normally found in the churches and congregations around the world at the beginning of the Great Tribulation of judgment against all the churches, which began on May 21, 1988. Therefore, once again, we can surmise that our term the earth (all those who, at least, claim to be spiritually living through Jesus Christ) refers to all the local churches and congregations worldwide. 

It is interesting to note that the surface of our planet is about two-thirds sea and one-third land, ground, or earth, just like the population size of those who were unsaved or spiritually dead to the population size of those who claimed to be spiritually living through Jesus Christ (all the Christian churches around the world): the unsaved or spiritually dead were about two-thirds of the total population of the world, while all the Christian churches were made up of about one-third of the total population at the time of the Great Tribulation that began on May 21, 1988. Thus, we have even more support for the sea symbolizing all the spiritually dead, and the earth symbolizing all the peoples of the Christian churches and congregations worldwide who identified themselves with the spiritually living, for, spiritually speaking, the earth refers to all the spiritually living on this planet, which refers externally to the whole Christian Church, for all who are in all the Christian churches and congregations worldwide are, at least, externally identified as being those of the spiritually living. Externally, they are considered to be all the spiritual living ones of the earth, and therefore, they can be symbolized by the term the earth .  

We can even go further to show that the term the earth can spiritually refer to all the churches and congregations worldwide during the Great Tribulation by looking up the word earth in the Bible to see if it can refer to the peoples of the Church (the people externally considered to be the spiritually living people of the earth), and when we do that, we find that it can. For instance, we read, 

Psalm 66:1 Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands [or all ye earth]  ...  

It is obvious that the word lands that can also be translated as earth does not refer to the physical lands or earth but to those who are of the spiritually living of the earth (the Church of God), for it is only they who will make a joyful noise unto the true God. The rest can only make a joyful noise to their false gods, demons, and idols because, spiritually, they are dead to the true God. 

Again, we read,  

Psalm 66:4 All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name .  

Clearly, when it says, All the earth shall worship God , it refers not to the physical earth worshipping God, but it refers to all who spiritually claim to be spiritually living in Christ (the Christian Church) who would worship God. Thus, we see that the Bible does give support to the term the earth symbolizing or representing the whole Christian Church since as we have seen, the word earth , which is the opposite of the word sea , can symbolize or represent those of the spiritually living (all the Christian churches worldwide) whereas the sea can represent those of the spiritually dead or all those who were normally found outside of the churches up to the beginning of the Great Tribulation of judgment that first came upon the Church on May 21, 1988 according to the most accurate , Biblical Timeline of History . 

So now, having come to a better understanding of the term the earth being able to refer to all the Christian churches and congregations worldwide, when verse 10 of Daniel 8 declares that the little horn spiritually cast down some of God's true people to the earth and stamped [or trampled] upon them , it means that the little horn who we learned is the counterfeit Christ and holy spirit, the Antichrist, Satan himself, [spiritually] cast down some of God's true people in the Christian Church, and stamped upon them . 

Now, this spiritual stamping upon of God's true people in the Christian churches during the Great Tribulation that we know began on May 21,1988 according to the very accurate , Biblical Timeline is consistently taught in holy Scripture. For instance, Revelation 11 speaks of it as the 2-Witnesses, who symbolize God's true people, being killed. Of course, that does not mean they were physically killed, but they were spiritually killed (silenced) in the Christian churches during the Great Tribulation (see Revelation 11:7-10 for details). But, as a quick overview, here is what we read in those verses of Revelation 11:7-10 , 

7 And when they [the 2-Witnesses] shall have finished their testimony [on May 21,1988 when the Church Age spiritually ended and God's people were no longer spiritually commissioned to send out the gospel through the Church] , the beast [the counterfeit Christ, the Antichrist, the little horn, Satan himself] that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them [spiritually kill God's true people in the Christian churches].
8 And their dead bodies [their spiritually dead bodies] shall lie in the street of the great city [the spiritual great city, Jerusalem, namely the corporate Christian Church] , which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified [the corporate Christian Church is now become a spiritually wicked place, like Sodom and Egypt, and where Christ was crucified, and spiritually, this is where God's true people, the 2-Witnesses, were also killed]. 
9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half [the duration of the 23-year long Great Tribulation that began on May 21,1988] , and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves [because their dead bodies are not physically dead but spiritually dead - silenced - in the Christian Church].
10 And they that dwell upon the earth [in the Christian churches] shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another [they send their false gospels, spirits, practices, signs and wonders, spiritual gifts, dreams and visions, and teachings to one another] ; because these two prophets [God's true people] tormented them that dwelt on the earth [those in the Christian churches ]. 

We also see this stamping upon or overcoming of God's true people during the Great tribulation mentioned in Daniel 7:7-8 , where we see, as we saw in Daniel 8:10 and Revelation 11, the spiritual stamping upon or killing of God's people. We read, 

7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it [it spiritually stamped upon or killed God's true people, for they are the residue or remnant] and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns [complete strength and power].
8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn [the counterfeit Christ, the Antichrist, Satan himself ruling in the Christian Church] before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots [it was God's purpose (symbolized by the number 3) for the little horn to arise - see meaning to the number 3 ] : and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things [he speaks the very words of God in the Bible through counterfeit pastors, teachers, evangelists, prophets, and other so-called Christians as if he were God]. 

And there are many other verses in holy scripture that speak about this Great Tribulation we are reading about in Daniel 8 when Satan was given rulership over the Christian Church and God's true people were spiritually stamped upon, overcome, and killed. But we must look at it all from a spiritual perspective because the nature of the entire Latter Days and Great Tribulation that began on May 21,1988 and came to an end on May 21,2011 was completely spiritual, to make it unlike any tribulation the world has ever seen or will see, for as the scripture declares, for then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be (Matthew 24:21). Indeed, the Man of Sin who is the Antichrist is not a literal man , which goes against what most so-called Christians have been taught and are still looking for, but he is the devil himself, a spirit disguised as the counterfeit Christ and holy spirit in the Church. He was given to rule over the corpor ate Christian Church beginning of May 21,1988 as God's Judgment against them, for God's Final Judgment on the world [had to] begin [first] at the house of God (1Peter 4:17). 

Another passage that speaks on the Great Tribulation is in Revelation17 where we read, 

16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast [symbolism for the complete power and strength of the counterfeit Christ, the Antichrist, Satan himself] , these shall hate the whore [the Christian Church] , and shall make her desolate and naked [symbolism for without salvation any longer] , and shall eat her flesh [symbolism for spiritually devouring the Christian Church] , and burn her with fire [symbolism for spiritually bringing judgment against her].
17 For God hath put in their hearts [in the heart of the strength and power of the counterfeit Christ, the Antichrist, Satan himself] t o fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their [his]  kingdom unto the beast [unto himself, the devil] , until the words of God shall be fulfilled .

Then again, Revelation 13 is all about this same Great Tribulation where we read, 

5 And there was given unto him [the counterfeit Christ, the Antichrist who is the beast, the devil himself] a mouth speaking great things [the things of the Bible] and blasphemies [great lies using the Bible] ; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months [42 months, which is three and a half years, symbolizes the 23-year duration of the Great Tribulation].
6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy [false teachings using the Bible] against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle [God's true people] , and [even] them that dwell in heaven [again, referring to God's true people].
7 And it was given unto him [the beast who is the little horn] to make war with the saints [to make spiritual war against God's true people] , and to overcome them [spiritually overcome them] : and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations .
8 And all that dwell upon the earth [all in the Christian churches] shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world .

Well, we are certainly beginning to see how God's true people were spiritually stamped upon, overcome, killed (silenced), blasphemed, and spiritually warred against in the Christian Church during the Great Tribulation, which began on May 21,1988, and this was all accomplished by the little horn , also known as the counterfeit Christ who is the Antichrist, the beast, the Man of Sin, the devil himself, as he and his demons worked through counterfeit Christians, pastors, evangelists, teachers, prophets, preachers, healers, and other so-called Christians in the so-called Christian churches, which became the great whore, synagogues of Satan, abominations of the earth, during the Great Tribulation from May 21,1988 to when the many days of Judgment Day began on May 21,2011. Yes, the Christian churches became Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots when God had given them up to the devil, and the people in the churches loved it that way and gathered together for themselves ministers to tickle their ears by teaching and proclaiming those things that pleased them, such as that salvation being still possible, that their churches are not under the judgment of God, that the Church Age has not come to an end, that one can still be saved by just believing without having experienced the miracle of having being born from above with a new resurrected soul, that the Antichrist is a man who has not yet come, and the list is extremely long for all the false things that the Christian Church holds to: here a little, there a little, resulting in a flood of evil that God could no longer tolerate beginning on May 21,1988 when He began to bring His Final Judgment on the world, first, at the House of God, which continues even to this day. But glory to God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ for a remnant who departed out from all the Christian churches to be forgiven and escape the judgment of God that came first upon the Christian Church and, as of May 21,2011, expanded to include the whole world as well. Indeed, from God's perspective, which is eternal, the end came on May 21,2011, for that is when the Lamb's book of life was complete with no one else ever to be eternally saved again, the Lamb's book being closed forever, with all having been saved, who were predestined to be saved before the world began, that were to be saved. And with that being the case, the spiritual end has come, and God has given all the rest of the billions of people over to their own sin and the Antichrist, who is the same as the spirit of Antichrist, the devil himself to be used of God one last time to not only bring judgment against all the so-called Christian churches that are now all synagogues of Satan, but the whole world.
 
 
SUMMARY & CONCLUSION 

Our main verse of study today was Daniel 8:10, but we first looked at Daniel 8:23, which gave us some further information about the little horn that we began to learn about in Daniel 8:9 of our last study . Remember, verse 23 read, 

23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance [the little horn], and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up .  

In this verse, we found that the latter time of their kingdom referred back to the latter time of the four notable horns (the four kings and their kingdoms that came up after the great horn had been broken as mentioned in verse 9 of our last study). But spiritually, these four notable horns , we discovered, symbolize the universal or worldwide notable strength and power of Satan after he had been released from the pit on May 21,1988 to be used of God to bring Judgment against the whole corporate Christian Church, which includes all Christian churches, by ruling over them, to begin the Great Tribulation upon them when, as Isaiah puts it, God removed the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water (Isaiah 3:1) as a foreshadow to what He did on May 21,1988 to the whole Christian Church, namely God removed all the spiritual bread and water (the true Holy Spirit left the Church) so that salvation became no longer possible in spiritual Jerusalem, the whole Christian Church. O yes, the word of God has been still spoken in those churches, but the Holy Spirit has no longer been there to apply the word unto eternal salvation. Only counterfeit salvations have taken place in the Church ever since, as the counterfeit Christ and holy spirit, the Antichrist, the devil himself has been ruling over them to spiritually destroy and deceive them all. 

Now, we learned that also on May 21,1988, when the trangressors [had] come to the full ; that is, when the sinning in the Church reached the point when God would no longer tolerate it, a king of fierce countenance [the little horn], and understanding dark sentences, [stood] up in the Christian Church. This little horn , of course, is the Antichrist, the counterfeit Christ, Satan himself who was given by God to bring judgment, first, against the House of God beginning on May 21,1988, and then also eventually against the whole world as well to begin the many days of Judgment Day on May 21,2011. This little horn , the devil and Antichrist, is said to be a king of fierce countenance , which, we learned, simply means a king of strong presence. In fact, he mimics the Holy Spirit to deceive people in the Christian churches to believe that the true Holy Spirit is still present when He is not, as the true Holy Spirit had abandoned the churches on May 21,1988 so that they were defenseless against the wiles of Satan then taking them over, disguised as the Christ and holy spirit to deceive them into worshipping him when all the while, they think they are actually worshipping the true Christ, even though they are not, even to this very day. Indeed, this little horn is said to be understanding dark sentences because he understands the deeper truths of holy scripture. So, he is the perfect counterfeit Christ, for he knows how to use the holy scriptures through counterfeit pastors, teachers, evangelists, prophets, healers, and other counterfeit Christians in such a way to keep the whole corporate Christian Church deceived. Of course, God is helping to keep them deceived as well, for He Himself is feeding them strong delusion that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness (2Thessalonians 2:11-12). 

Then we looked at our main verse of study for today, Daniel 8:10, which states ,  

10 And it [the little horn] waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground and stamped upon them . 

From this verse, we learned that the little horn , who is the counterfeit Christ and holy spirit, the Antichrist, also called the Man of Sin, the devil himself, became so great in the Christian Church that he was able to spiritually cast down [some] of the armies of the true people of God who were then in the Christian Church, and he spiritually stamped upon them . Other passages in the Bible speak of Satan's having stamped upon God's true people in the Church beginning on May 21,1988 as having spiritually killed them (having silenced them), having overcome them, having blasphemed them, and having warred against them. Whatever descriptor was used, it is clear that beginning on May 21,1988, the devil was empowered to spiritually destroy the Christian Church for all their sins. Thankfully, God chose to save a remnant from the very beginning, and they were led by God to follow Christ and the Holy Spirit to finally depart out from all the Christian churches, and they did so before the many days of Judgment Day began on May 21,2011. Yet perhaps there were some who did not follow Christ to depart out from the Christian Church until after May 21,2011 because, for some reason, they had not yet learned of this until later, even though they had been saved before May 21,2011. Whatever the case, we must give all the glory and thanks to the Father through Jesus Christ, and to the Holy Spirit, all the one same and only true God, that He even chose to save a remnant when we were all yet sinners, deserving of nothing but death, for if He, alone, did not choose to save us from our sins and Satan, none of us would have ever been saved. Worthy are you, O Lord, of all praise, glory, and honor, forevermore, so be it!
