God Cannot Lie!
Christ atoned for sins on earth in 33 AD and not
at or before the foundation of the world

By Brother Mike (6/5/15; 20 minutes)

We read in Titus 1,

Tit 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began . . .

I want to focus in on the fact that God cannot lie. But even though we are told that God cannot lie in scripture, those who want us to believe that Christ atoned for sins at or before the foundation of the world would make God a liar. Let me explain: When the gospel first came to this earth in the 1st century AD, every one was first told by Christ, then by the apostles, and then by everyone else who ever witnessed the gospel for the next approximate 2010 years that Christ had atoned for their sins when He died on the cross while on earth. In other words, no one ever taught that Jesus atoned for sins at or before the foundation of the world, but everyone was made to believe that He atoned for sins when He was on earth in 33 AD because the teachings of Jesus, the apostles, and the Holy scriptures were so clear that this was unmistakable.

But, then, about 2010 years from the 1st century Pentecost, a single man began to teach that Christ actually atoned for sins before the foundation of the world, which, you see, made God a liar to all those who He had previously made to believe that Christ atoned for sins on earth in 33 AD. Would Yahweh really do something like that? Would He clearly communicate to people that He atoned for their sins when He was on earth in 33 AD if in actuality He had atoned for their sins before the world began? Of course not! Let God be true, and every man a liar (Ro. 3:4). We read in several passages that when Christ died on earth in 33 AD He was a ransom for sins:

Mt 20:28 Even as the Son of man [Jesus Christ] came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many [the elect]

Mr 10:45 For even the Son of man [Jesus Christ] came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many [the elect]

1Ti 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all [the elect], to be testified in due time

Now, if He were a ransom, it means that He was a payment. And, if He were a payment, then He was obviously a payment for the sins of the elect when He was on earth in 33 AD since this is the clear context in which each of these verses are set (see also The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world ).

But, he (Satan) who would deceive you would have you believe that Christ was not a payment for sins on earth in 33 AD, which is clearly contrary to the previous verses, but, rather, Christ was a payment for sins before the world began, and the death of Christ on earth in 33 AD was merely a demonstration of what He had already accomplished at the foundation of the world. Yes, Satan would have you believe this in order for you to trust in a different atonement other than the one and only atonement through which salvation is possible, and to get you to go after what the Bible calls strange flesh (Jude 1:7), and to offer up strange fire (Lev. 10:1-2), which is the same as worshipping another Jesus (see The Final Test ) of whom we read about in 2Corinthians 11:4 where we read,

2Co 11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached . .

Yes, this would be the worship of a false God, and seeing that it is Satan who cleverly devised this doctrine, this would be the worship of Satan himself.

Now, I ask you: would you worship Satan, or would you worship Jesus Christ, the one and only true God who can not only save you from your own sins, but can raise you up on the Last Day and present you with an eternal abode in a new heaven and earth where righteousness dwells? You see, if you want to believe that Christ atoned for sins before the world began, then you participate in Satan's lie, and you make all those who have ever witnesses the gospel from Pentecost in 33 AD on up to about 2004 AD liars, for they all believed and were taught clearly by holy scripture and the Holy Spirit that Christ atoned for their sins on earth in 33 AD, but you are now saying that that is not true. Have you now become more knowledgeable than God? Either you believe what Yahweh so clearly says in scripture, or you don't. And, if you don't, then you have been deceived. The teaching of the atonement and when it took place is some of the clearest and plainest teaching in scripture because it is the substance of what everything else in the Bible pointed to. Many of the figures, shadows and types, and all the animal sacrifices pointed to the atonement on earth in 33 AD. The atonement on earth was not the shadow of an imaginary atonement at the foundation of the world, but it was the substance to what everything else pointed to. But, those who would deceive you have made that which is the real substance - the atonement on earth in 33 AD - but only a shadow, which the scripture does not do. They say that the atonement on earth was merely a demonstration, or an earthly picture, of what happened before the foundation of the world. And, there primary verse to prove this is Revelation 13:8, which states,

Re 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world

Now, this verse does not say, the Lamb slain at or before the foundation of the world, which it could have done to make it clear by the use of the appropriate Greek words, but it, says, the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. The reason for this is because Yahweh is not trying to say by this verse that Christ was slain at or before the foundation of the world, but He is teaching that Christ was foreordained (predestined) to be slain for our sins at or before the foundation of the world, and it is in this sense of foreordination alone that Christ could be said to have been slain from the foundation of the world (see the phrase, from the foundation of the world , then Luke 11:50 Exposes Truth! ). This agrees with 1Peter 1:20 where we read,

1Pe 1:20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you . . .

The idea is that once something has been foreordained (predestined), it is guaranteed to take place exactly as it was foreordained (predestined) because inherent in the foreordination itself is not only the blue print of exactly how something will work out in time, but also the power and authority necessary to make it happen. Hence, once something is foreordained (predestined), the works can be said to have been completed even before they have actually worked out in time. This is why we can read in Hebrews 4,

Heb 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world

In other words, the works necessary for salvation were finished from the foundation of the world. This does not mean, as they would have you believe, that the atonement for sins must have taken place at or before the foundation of the world, but rather it means that the foreordination, or predestination, of the atonement for sins must have taken place at or before the foundation of the world, which insures that the actual atonement would be carried out, exactly as foreordained or predestined, on earth in 33 AD. You see, once something has been foreordained or predestined, everything necessary for that something to take place is inherent in that particular foreordination. So, once the atonement for sins had been foreordained or predestined at or before the foundation of the world, all the works required to fulfill that foreordination or predestination were finished or complete at or before the foundation of the world as well, which means, even though the atonement for sins actually took place on earth in 33 AD, all the works necessary to have made the atonement for sins in 33 AD happen were finished or complete at or before the foundation of the world. So, all the works required for salvation could be said to have been finished from the foundation of the world even though these works had not yet worked themselves out in time. This is a very important concept that helps us to understand verses which use the phrase, from the foundation of the world. For instance, we read in Matthew 25,

Mt 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world . . .

Now, does this mean that the kingdom was prepared for you at or before the foundation of the world in the sense that all the works required in the preparation of the kingdom, including the atonement for sins, must have taken place at or before the foundation of the world? Certainly not! No, this is simply saying that the kingdom was prepared for you at or before the foundation of the world in that all that was necessary to prepare the kingdom for you, including the atonement for sins, had been foreordained or predestined at or before the foundation of the world, which guaranteed that all would be prepared for you in time by the end of the world. This means that all the works necessary in preparation for the Kingdom, including the atonement for sins, were complete in the foreordination or predestination of them at or before the foundation of the world even though none of these works had yet worked themselves out in time. Remember, in the foreordination or predestination itself, there reside the Blue Prints as well as the power and authority to bring all those works into being. Therefore, all the works in preparation of the Kingdom could be said to be complete even before they actually worked themselves out in time, and this is what it means that the kingdom was prepared for you from the foundation of the world. We could just as well translate our verse like this:

Mt 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you [through foreordination or predestination at] the foundation of the world . . .

Now, in summary, in that scripture tells us that Christ was a ransom, or payment, for sin when He was sacrificed on earth in 33 AD, it is clear that He atoned for sins at that time and not at the foundation of the world. If Christ did not pay for sin on earth in 33 AD, then Yahweh is a liar. And, since none of us could call Yahweh a liar, except unknowingly by those who teach that the atonement took place at the foundation of the world, we know that Christ atoned for sins while He was on earth in 33 AD according to the scriptures. Furthermore, we know that the atonement for sins did not take place at or before the foundation of the world because the atonement in 33 AD was not a shadow, or picture, of an imaginary atonement at or before the foundation of the world, but it was the true substance of the actual atonement for sins, which everything else pointed to. It could not, then, have been merely a demonstration, or earthly picture, or shadow of another atonement at or before the foundation of the world. Finally, the two most quoted verses supposedly in support of Christ having atoned for sins at or before the foundation of the world, do not actually mean what they have been made out to mean. In that Christ is called the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world (Rev. 13:8) means that Christ was slain from the foundation of the world in the sense that this was when it was first foreordained or predestined that Christ would be slain. And, in that the works [of the atonement] were finished from the foundation of the world (Heb. 4:3) means that the works of the atonement were finished through their foreordination or predestination at the foundation of the world. This is because everything necessary to complete the works of the atonement was inherent in the foreordination or predestination itself, namely the Blue Print, as well as the power and authority to accomplish it.
