By Brother Mike

Hello and welcome, this is Brother Mike at May-212011.com. I hope all of you are doing okay because I know how difficult it can be to wait in the ark for our blessed Lord's return because I am right there with you experiencing the same thing. It's like being already dead to and separated from this world like never before in all history, but not completely because we are still here. Talk about being stuck between heaven and earth; that is how we feel as we long to be completely rid of this world and the bondage of this flesh, and we long to start anew in the new heaven and the new earth.

As the scripture says in Romans 8,

22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23
And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body

But, although this is intensely the case; that is, that we are groaning to be fully redeemed from this world, we can now rejoice in anticipation more so than ever before in history, for the coming of our Lord is very near. Based upon all of the evidence, I would be very surprised if our Lord does not return by the end of May of this year. If He doesn't return by then, I will have to reevaluate things, but for now, I think the evidence supports His return in this year. Already we are being encouraged that the Lord may come during Purim from March 7-9, but if He does not return at this time due to Purim simply being a spiritual picture of the end, but not the actual end itself, I am still reminded of His words,

"And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man" (Luke 17:26).

And again in Matthew 24,

37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

From passages such as these, it is clear that the flood account in the days of Noah should be viewed with very careful attention as a picture of how it will be in these final days on this earth, and this encourages one to take a closer look at the flood account to see if there is anything that might be learned in so far as the timing of the end.

Let's begin to take a look at the flood account once again by starting in Genesis 7, verse 11, where we read,

11  In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

From this verse, we know that the flood began on the 17th day of the 2nd month of the biblical calendar, and it has been known for some years now that this date is equivalent to May 21, 2011 . This date is when the spiritual flood of judgment came upon the entire world as was typified by the literal flood in the days of Noah, and based upon this literal flood being a earthly type or foreshadow of what spiritually began on May 21, and based upon the words of our Lord, " as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be," could this mean that just as it was 370 days from the time that the literal flood began to the time when it ended and Noah stepped onto dry ground, so also will it be 370 days from May 21, 2011 when we will step onto the dry ground of heaven? Certainly, this is a possibility, and so in this message I want to look at the flood account in Genesis 8 once again to see if there is anything else that might be learned with respect to the flood, and, in the process, make a correction to my previously given date of May 26 as being the end of the flood account and the possible day in which we go to heaven. Rather, it should have been May 25th as will be realized through the following explanation.

Okay, let's continue to read of the flood account in Genesis 8, verses 3-4 where it states,

3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.
4
And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

From these verses, we see that it was 150 days after the flood began when the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat; this, according to scripture, was on the 17th day of the 7th month of the biblical calendar. In relationship to when the spiritual flood struck in our day, this would be equivalent to 150 days after May 21, which comes to October 18th according to our modern day calendar. This is when the spiritual ark came to rest on the spiritual mountains of Ararat; it was at this time that the ark was no longer being driven, tossed and turned by the flood waters because it had come to rest on the mountains of Ararat. But what is all this representing? This is all an earthly picture of the atoning work of our Lord Jesus Christ. The ark represents Jesus Christ in who are all of His elect protected, and the flood waters represent hell or death, which has come against Christ Himself as punishment for the sins of His people. Christ, the ark, pays the penalty of hell for His people, which penalty is represented by all the waters coming up against the ark, driving, tossing, and turning it as if to destroy until when the ark finally comes to rest on the mountains of Ararat. In other words, God's people are saved from hell or death by the protection in the ark of Jesus Christ, and they have come to rest in this salvation on the mountains of Ararat. The mountains represent God Himself, and so it can be said that God's people have come to rest in God for their salvation.

Before leaving this initial 150 day period of the flood, it should be noted that it is no coincidence that this picture of Christ saving His people is a period of 150 days. This number 150 breaks down into 5 x 3 x 10. The number 5 symbolizes atonement; the number 3 symbolizes the purpose of God; and the number 10 symbolizes completeness (see Number Studies). Therefore, the meaning of the 150 day period might be summarized like this:  It is God's complete (10)  purpose (3) for the atonement (5).

Now a further description of the flood account is given in the next verse of Genesis 8 where we read,

5 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.

Assuming a 30 day a month calendar, the 10th month, the 1st day of the month when the mountains were seen is precisely 74 days from the 17th day of the 7th month, which is October 18 relative to May 21, when the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. Now adding these 74 days to October 18 comes to December 31, 2011. This is when the tops of the mountains were seen relative to the spiritual flood which began on May 21, 2011. But what could this mean: that the tops of the mountains were seen on December 31? As I contemplate this, I know that in the Bible the tops of the mountains would represent God Himself, so what does it mean that on December 31 God was seen? Certainly, it can't mean that at that time God was literally seen, for no man can see God and live:

"And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live" (Ex. 33:20).

Therefore, I think that as we picture the tops of the mountains as being above it all, I think this is simply teaching that God is above it all. He is high and lifted up. He is sovereign over all of creation, and, as such, the flood of judgment is completely under His control so that the end of the flood waters and heaven will come according to His sovereign plan.

Now the next verse in Genesis 8 reads,

6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made:
7
And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.
8 Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground;
9
But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.

From this, we learn that 40 days after the tops of the mountains were seen; Noah opened the window of the ark and sent out a raven and a dove. This was 40 days from December 31, 2011 according to our modern day calendar, which falls on February 9, 2012. It is worth noting that God mentions it was 40 days from when the tops of the mountains were seen until the window of the ark was opened on February 9. Since the number 40 is consistently representative of a time period of testing in the Bible, we can see in this account a period of testing for God's people.

Now, in these verses, we read that Noah sent out a raven and a dove. The raven went forth to and fro until the waters were dried up from off the face of the earth. Why is this? This is because the raven, which is an unclean bird according to the ceremonial law (Lev.11:13-15; De 14:12-14) is being used to symbolize that the earth is still unclean and under the wrath of God until it be completely dried of its flood waters. The dove, on the other hand, is a clean bird, and it is sent out in order to see if the waters of God's judgment were abated or lessened from off the face of the earth. The dove represents the Holy Spirit (Mt. 3:16; Mk. 1:10; Lk. 3:22; Jn. 1:32) who works in the people of God through earnest prayers and bible study in search for evidence as to when dry ground or heaven might come. In this account, the dove is sent out, but it finds no habitable dry ground on which to rest and so returns to the protection of the ark. This is a picture of the Holy Spirit not as yet revealing any solid evidence for the coming of dry ground in heaven.

But then just 7 days later, the dove is sent out once again, and this time the dove returns in the evening with an olive leaf plucked off in its beak. We read of this in Genesis 8,

10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;
11
And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.

One of the first things revealed in this account is that it was 7 days after February 9, which is February 16th, when the dove was sent out. The number 7 has to do with perfection. This is saying that in God's perfect time, the Holy Spirit, who is symbolized by the dove, reveals some solid evidence as to the coming of dry ground in heaven. Notice that the Holy Spirit who is represented by the dove came back in the evening time. The evening in the Bible is a time of judgment, so once again we know this is still a time of judgment on the earth and not yet the time for heaven. But, wonderfully, the dove comes back with some solid evidence as to the coming of dry ground: it returns with an olive leaf or branch plucked off; so Noah knew that the waters were abated or lessened from off the earth.

But what is the significance of the olive branch? The olive branch represents life in the coming kingdom of God, which could be a representation of Christ Himself, so in that the dove brought back an olive branch means the kingdom of God in the new coming earth, or heaven, is very near. So this time of February 16 should be a great time of rejoicing for God's people. It was because the dove brought back an olive branch that Noah knew that the waters were lessened from off the earth, and the time for stepping onto dry ground was coming ever so near. Likewise, it is because of what the Holy Spirit has revealed at this time that God's people should know the coming of heaven is very near. This should greatly encourage us, and we should have every reason to look up for our redemption draws very near.

And then the dove is sent out for a 3rd time. This time the dove does not return to the ark because it must have found good habitable ground on which to live. We read,

12 And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more.

From this we know it was another 7 days after February 16, which is February 23, when the dove was released and returned not. The number 7 once again emphasizes it was in God's perfect time that the dove was sent out and did not return. The reason the dove did not return to the ark is the ground was now dry enough for the dove to survive; it no longer needed the protection of the ark. This means that in God's perfect time by February 23rd, the Holy Spirit will have revealed clear evidence for the soon coming of heaven. It is not a matter of years before heaven comes, but just a matter of weeks or months. In fact, according to the literal flood account as we shall see, it is only about 3 months away from February 23rd

Now reading further on in Genesis 8,

13 And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.

Here we are told that the waters were dried from off the earth on the 1st day of the 1st month, and this is when Noah removed the covering of the ark and saw for himself that the ground was "drained" of its water. I say "drained" and not "dried" because the word used for "dried" in this verse is not the same word used for "dried" in the next verse which says the earth was "dried" when Noah finally steps out of the ark onto dry ground, but this is a word which can simply mean drained, laid waste, or desolate. So when Noah removed the covering of the ark, and then looked and saw that the face of the ground was dry, it simply means that he saw that the earth was drained, laid waste or desolate. As we shall see in the next verse, it was actually 56 days later when the earth was actually dried to the point of Noah being commanded to leave the ark.

Once again, we are told it was the 1st day of the 1st month when the waters were dried (that is, drained) and Noah removed the covering of the ark. Assuming a 30 day a month calendar, this is exactly 90 days from the 1st day of the 10th month when the mountains were seen, which we had learned was on December 31, 2011 relative to the spiritual judgment which began on May 21. Now adding these 90 days to December 31 comes precisely to March 30, 2012. This is when the covering of the ark will be removed, and God's people will see that the ground is virtually dry; that is, the spiritual judgment which began on May 21 will be perceived by God's people to be almost complete, and the dry ground of heaven is very soon to be realized.

It is interesting to contemplate what this removing of the covering of the ark might refer to. Literally it simply meant the removal of that part of the ark which protected them from being able to clearly see outside the ark on every side as to the coming of dry ground. Spiritually, this seems to relate to the removing of that which has to some degree been hindering God's people from being able to understand more precisely the timing of heaven. One thought I have with respect to this is what if March 7-9, Purim, does not turn out to be the time for heaven despite what many are thinking? Perhaps this will then result in an opening up, or a removal of the covering that has been hiding information, and God's people will then see more clearly than ever before that heaven will come in accordance to the time-scale of the literal flood account, just as is being revealed in this study. This is just a thought, but certainly worth some consideration.

Well, the flood account finally comes to an end as we read in Genesis 8,

14 And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.
15
And God spake unto Noah, saying,
16
Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee.

So it was the 27th day of the 2nd month when Noah finally stepped from the ark onto dry ground. Assuming a 30 day a month calendar, this is exactly 56 days (not the 57days of which I miscalculated in a previous study) from the 1st day of the 1st month when the covering of the ark had been removed. Now adding these 56 days to March 30 on our calendar comes to May 25, 2012. This is exactly 370 days from the time in which the flood began on May 21, 2011 to the time when it is finished and when God's people go to heaven on dry ground.

So there you have it: if the spiritual flood of judgment that began on May 21, 2011 is literally correlated with the flood of Noah's day, then just as Noah stepped from the ark onto dry ground on the 27th day of the 2nd month of the biblical calendar (Gen. 8:14), so also will God's people step onto the dry ground of heaven on May 25, 2012. Please take note that the date is not May 26th as I had previously but wrongly calculated, but it is May 25th. Okay, in summary and closing let me briefly say this:

The flood account is a type or foreshadow of the spiritual flood which began on May 21, 2011 as can be clearly realized in the words of our Lord, " as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be" (Mt. 24:37). This could mean that just as the flood account as revealed in Genesis 8 literally lasted for 370 days, so also the spiritual flood which began on May 21 will literally last for 370 days, and so end on May 25, 2012. Of course, it is possible that the flood account be fulfilled in some non-literal way of which we are not yet completely privy, but, if so, it has not as yet come to the forefront in my thinking. Unless it can be shown how the flood account is fulfilled in some way other than literally, then the literal interpretation seems to be the best, at least until the end of May comes and we are still here. If we are still here at the end of May, then we will know that the time-scale of the flood was not meant to be literally applied, but in some way only metaphorical or spiritual.

This is Brother Mike at May-212011.com hoping to see you very soon in paradise. If not on Purim - that is, March 7-9 - then perhaps by the end May.
